NIC Foundation panel membership changes

The Spokesman-Review

The North Idaho College Foundation board of directors recently announced several changes in its membership for the 2007-‘08 academic year.

The all-volunteer board oversees the NIC Foundation, the college’s private fundraising division. The multimillion-dollar foundation provides supplemental support to enhance the mission of the college and support NIC students, employees and programs.

Michelle Schini Mitchell, of Magnuson, McHugh and Co., will serve as foundation treasurer upon Rick Maxey’s recent retirement after 15 years of service. Maxey also retired from Magnuson, McHugh and Co. after more than 30 years.

Mitchell is beginning her second year on the board. She has worked at Magnuson, McHugh and Co. since 1995 and serves as director of the auditing and accounting department of the firm.

NIC President Priscilla Bell will take over as secretary of the NIC Foundation board, a position reserved for the NIC president. Bell was named president of NIC in July.

John Young, of Polin and Young Construction Inc., recently joined the NIC Foundation board.

Young is an NIC alumnus who began his career in the construction industry in 1984. He joined Polin Construction Inc. in 1992 and now is president of Polin and Young Construction.

Young served the NIC Foundation as a volunteer during the 2004 “Providing Opportunities – Fulfilling Dreams” community campaign to raise money to equip the new NIC Health and Sciences Building.

Other current NIC Foundation board members are Jim Thorpe, president; David Wold, vice president; Dick Sams, immediate past president; and board members Mic Armon, Jack Beebe, Sandi Bloem, Romer Brown, Jim Coleman, Brad Dugdale, James Eisses, Mark Fisher, Kimber Gates, John Goedde, Jon Hippler, Time Komberec, Steve Meyer, Claudia Miewald, David Pelz, Ben Rolphe, Bill Tarnasky, Sue Thilo, Marc Wallace, Jo Webb and Parker Woodall.

Rayelle Anderson is executive director of the NIC Foundation.
