Murray wins city championship

Shaun Murray shot a 77 Sunday at The Creek at Qualchan, good enough to win the Spokane City Championship in golf.

Despite his mediocre round, Murray’s three-round total of 218 was three shots better than Bob Witte, who closed with a 73.

Jerry Traynham, who won the Senior Championship flight, had the low score of the tournament at 213. Jim O’Rourke of Spokane shot 216 in that flight.

Murray, Traynham, Tom Craig and Buzz Adams made the season-ending shootout.
