Ryan Selland had 16 points and Chaz Johnson and Jordan Poynor added 12 apiece as Mt. Spokane opened its season with a 51-45 Greater Spokane League win over visiting Gonzaga Prep on Friday night.

Connor Haley added six points, six rebounds and four steals for the Wildcats, who held a 27-21 lead at the half.

Sean Fisher had 14 points to lead the Bullpups (1-1).

Elsewhere in the GSL, Nick Rijon scored a game-high 19 points to lead North Central to a 39-36 win over host East Valley. Rijon hit three 3-pointers, including one with 1 1/2 minutes to go that put the Indians ahead by one. NC (1-1) outscored the Knights 21-13 in the second half after trailing by five at the half. Trevor Slocum and Lonnie Quirk scored 11 points apiece to lead EV (0-1). … Brendan Ingebritsen scored 25 points on 8-of-15 shooting and grabbed six rebounds to lead Mead (1-0) to a 78-64 win over visiting Rogers (0-2). Jesse Vaughan scored 22 points and Daniel Anderson added 18 for the Pirates, who trailed by 11 at the half.

Jacie Balls scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Madison to a 76-75 double-overtime, non-league win over visiting Lake City. The Timberwolves’ Jason Wheelock missed a shot with 1 second left in the second overtime. Nate Frisbie finished with 23 points and 15 rebounds and Wheelock added 11 points and eight assists for Lake City (0-1). … In other non-league games, Jake Heinen scored 20 points, including 10 of 10 from the free-throw line, as Freeman routed visiting Timberlake 67-36. Marc Soelberg added 14 points for the Scotties (1-0). The Tigers (0-2) were led by Jens Jacobsen, who had 14 points.

Kenny Stuart scored 15 points and Kyle Kenser added 12 points and eight steals to lead Kellogg (1-1) to a 70-30 win over visiting Kootenai (1-1). … Mike Naccarato scored a game-high 24 points to lead Chewelah (1-0) to a 54-52 win at Priest River (0-2). Justin Mills had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Spartans. … Levi Buckles scored 16 points and Justin Carter added 15, including seven in the second quarter, as Post Falls edged host Port Angeles 56-52. The Trojans were solid from the free-throw line, converting 19 of 23 attempts. Shawn Reid added 12 points for Post Falls (1-2).

Anthony Williams scored a game-high 30 points to lead Moscow (1-0) to a 70-45 victory over visiting Clarkston. Don Perconti had 13 points to lead the Bantams (1-1). … Andrew Prohaska scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Nate Clinton tossed in 19 points to guide Coeur d’Alene to a 73-61 win at Rigby. The Vikings (1-0) won despite shooting just 16 of 34 from the free-throw line. … Ryan Schulz scored 15 points and Tyler Moos added 14 as Reardan (1-0) defeated visiting LaCrosse-Washtucna 72-35. Adam Roberts had 18 points to lead the Tigercats (0-1). … Willie Hunt scored a game-high 19 points to lead Newport (1-0) to a 42-30 win over host Selkirk at Ione. Colton Enyeart tallied 10 points for the Rangers (0-1).

Colton Berg added 10 points and five steals for the Wildcats (1-0). … Joel Kohlstedt scored 15 points and Ryan Presho added 10 as Springdale edged visiting Coeur d’Alene Charter 47-45. The Chargers (1-0) outscored the Panthers 13-2 in the third quarter to erase a nine-point halftime deficit. Rory Ruskovich tallied a game-high 23 points for Coeur d’Alene Charter (0-2). … Kittitas outscored St. George’s 14-6 in the fourth quarter and beat the Dragons 56-53. Henry Butler scored a game-high 21 points to lead St. George’s (1-1). The Dragons held a 36-28 lead at halftime but were outscored 28-17 in the second half.
