Jeff Minnerly scored 26 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter, to guide the Ferris boys basketball team to a 70-61 season-opening win over Central Valley in a Greater Spokane League game Saturday at Central Valley.

Minnerly also had three 3-pointers and was 5 of 6 from the free-throw line. As a team the Saxons made 21 of 32 free throws. The Bears were 7 of 14 from the line.

Michael Williams scored 23 points on 10-of-19 shooting to lead Central Valley (0-2).
