Chiefs blank Rebels

RED DEER, Alberta – Chris Langkow and Drayson Bowman scored in the first and third periods to give the Spokane Chiefs a 2-0 Western Hockey League win over the Red Deer Rebels Sunday.

Dustin Tokarski stopped all 18 shots he faced to post his third shutout of the season for Spokane (21-4-1-2). The Chiefs remain five points ahead of second-place Tri-City in the U.S. Division.

James Reimer made 40 saves for Red Deer (8-19-4-1).

Bowman’s goal was his 25th of the season, tying him with Chilliwack’s Oscar Moller for the league lead.

Bowman is third in the league in scoring with 44 points (25 goals and 19 assists). Mark Santorelli of Chilliwack is the league leader with 54 (16-38), while Moller is second with 46 (25-21).

Left wing Dustin Donaghy returned to Spokane’s lineup for the first time since Oct. 3.
