Beauty, geek are crowned

Mike Hughes Gannett News Service

Tonight’s must-see

“Beauty and the Geek” finale, 8 p.m., CW. Here is the show’s first venture into democracy. We’ll learn which of the two mismatched duos the voters prefer.

One has a geeky guy (Dave, who majored in physics and astronomy) and Jasmine, a 22-year-old nanny and snowboarder. The other has a studious woman (Nicole, a Cal Tech grad and a musicology grad student at Tufts) and Sam, a party planner and workout buff.

Might-see

“Snow” (2004), 7 p.m., and “Santa Baby” (2006), 9 p.m., Family. The avalanche of Christmas movies brings a few witty ones (including “Snow”), lots of adequate ones (including “Santa Baby”) and some bombs

“Snow” has Santa’s son (Tom Cavanagh) trying to retrieve a stolen reindeer.

“Santa Baby” has Santa’s daughter (Jenny McCarthy) as a sleek businesswoman, beckoned home.

Other choices

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” 8 p.m., CBS. Some people savor this animated hour, which has been around since 1964. Others grumble about the weak animation and odd plot detours. The intentions and the song are nice.

“Bones,” 8 p.m., Fox. The murder of a philanthropist brings complications, because Hodgins had a relationship with the victim.

“Flightplan,” 8 p.m., FX. Jodie Foster plays a widow who wakes up on a plane trip and says her daughter is missing. Others insist the daughter was never on the plane.

“Sunday Best” finale, 8 p.m., BET. We learn whom viewers have picked as the best gospel singer. The finalists are Shari Addison of Chicago and Crystal Aikin of Tacoma.

“House,” 9 p.m., Fox. In a rerun, House and Cuddy are on a plane when there’s a sudden, mysterious outbreak.

“According to Jim,” 9 and 9:30 p.m., ABC. In the first rerun, Jim goes to a coed baby shower, leading to comments on a sports talk show. In the second, he has to decide whether to give the family pet an expensive operation.

“Boston Legal,” 10 p.m., ABC. Here’s a variation on the Don Imus controversy: Shirley is representing a radio personality who was fired after making disparaging comments.

“Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show,” 10 p.m., CBS. Tall, skinny women walk around in their underwear, while people sometimes sing. One of the women is Heidi Klum; one of the singers is her husband, Seal. Also performing are the Spice Girls and Will.i.am.
