Chelsea Hardenbrook scored a game-high 19 points and Gabrielle Daily added 12 as Medical Lake opened its season with a 57-52 non-league win at Newport on Tuesday night.

Alicia Smith had 15 points and 11 rebounds to guide the Grizzlies, who outscored the Cardinals 38-28 in the second half after trailing by 15 at halftime.

Amber Lewis chipped in 12 points and Hayley Odell added 10 for Newport (1-2).

In other non-league games, Kasey Viche scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Kellogg JV to a 40-31 win at Mullan. Fawn Story had 17 points and 20 rebounds to guide the Tigers (0-4), who were outscored 30-19 in the second half after leading by two at halftime. … Chelsi Marshall scored a team-high 11 points and Shea Spicer added 10 points, nine rebounds and seven steals as Riverside defeated Northwest Christian 43-37 at Riverside. The Rams (2-0) outscored the Crusaders 28-21 in the second half after trailing by a point at the half. Jessica Dahm paced Northwest Christian (0-1) with a game-high 13 points. … Kelly Van Lith scored 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead St. John-Endicott to a 55-33 win at Dayton. The Eagles put away the game in the first half, outscoring Dayton 30-13. Trisha Luft added 10 points and 12 rebounds and Kelsey Simon chipped in 10 points for St. John-Endicott (1-1). … Lind-Ritzville got off to a fast start and cruised to an easy 58-29 win over visiting Moses Lake Christian. Kelsey Arlt scored 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and Devon Killian also had 14 points to lead the Broncos. Lind-Ritzville (2-0) outscored Moses Lake Christian 18-4 in the opening quarter and led 31-11 at the half.

Kyle Miller scored a game-high 22 points, including four 3-pointers, as Cheney edged Priest River 42-37 in Cheney. Ceri Palk added 10 points for the Blackhawks (1-1). Lacy Hopkins and Taylor Stewart scored nine points apiece to guide the Spartans (5-1). … Alisa Moehrle scored a game-high 27 points to lead Colton to a 67-39 victory at Waitsburg. Ashley Nygreen added 13 points and Mollie Kramer chipped in 11 for the Wildcats (3-0), who outscored the Cardinals 29-11 in the second half to put the game away. … Shelby Puckett scored a game-high 22 points and Lauren Varney added 12 to lead Tekoa-Oakesdale to a 53-31 win over Liberty in Tekoa. Katie Baker scored a game-high 15 points and Emma Hawn added 14 points and five assists as Lake City routed Sandpoint 56-18 in an Inland Empire League game in Coeur d’Alene. Sydney Butler chipped in 10 points for the Timberwolves (5-1, 2-1), who outscored the Bulldogs (1-4, 0-1) 16-4 in the second quarter and led 32-12 at halftime. … Elsewhere in the IEL, Lewiston came alive in the second half and beat host Moscow 46-35. Jessica Kramer scored a game-high 10 points and Kami Brown added nine to lead the Bengals (2-4, 1-1), who outscored the Bears 25-12 in the second half. Moscow (0-6, 0-2) was led by Chantel Divilbiss, who scored nine points.
