An angry Jennifer Love Hewitt is defending her curves after photos of her in a bikini were ridiculed on the Internet.

“I’ve sat by in silence for a long time now about the way women’s bodies are constantly scrutinized,” she writes on her Web site.

“To set the record straight, I’m not upset for me, but for all the girls out there that are struggling with their body image.”

The photos show the 28-year-old “Ghost Whisperer” star, with a bit of cellulite, on a Hawaii beach with her new fiance, Scottish actor Ross McCall.

Commented TMZ.com: “We know what you ate this summer, Love – everything!”

“A size 2 is not fat! Nor will it ever be,” Hewitt replied. “And being a size 0 doesn’t make you beautiful.”

“What I should be doing is celebrating some of the best days of my life and my engagement to the man of my dreams, instead of having to deal with photographers taking invasive pictures from bad angles.

“To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini – put it on and stay strong.”

Now everyone knows

“High School Musical” star Ashley Tisdale has had a nose job to correct a deviated septum.

“I didn’t do this because I believe in plastic surgery. I did this to help my health,” she says. “I literally almost could not breathe out of the right side of my nose. …

“I just want to be honest because my fans are everything to me.”

Putting Crowe in play

It’s official: Russell Crowe is stepping in for Brad Pitt in “State of Play,” the political thriller co-starring Helen Mirren, Edward Norton, Robin Wright Penn and Jason Bateman.

Pitt, who dropped out of the film last month, reportedly wasn’t pleased with the script.

Big, but not easy

Speaking of Brad Pitt, the actor/activist says he expects the foundations to be built for at least 150 eco-friendly homes in New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward by the end of next summer.

Pitt has pledged $5 million of his own money toward the project, his latest effort to help the area recover from Hurricane Katrina.

He and Angelina Jolie purchased a mansion in the city’s French Quarter for $3.5 million.

Chappelle’s show of stamina

Dave Chappelle has broken his own Laugh Factory endurance record.

The 34-year-old comedian topped his record of six hours and seven minutes, set in mid-April, by taking to the stage Sunday and telling jokes for six hours and 12 minutes.

“Dave was determined to keep his record because he recently heard that Dane Cook was planning on trying to break (his) record,” club owner Jamie Masada said.
