People: Now you see them— again?
Four years after retiring, illusionists Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn say they may just reappear.
The German-born performers’ long-running “Siegfried & Roy” production ended in October 2003 when Horn was critically injured on stage by a white tiger featured in their show.
The tiger sank its teeth into Horn’s neck and dragged him off stage in front of a horrified audience at The Mirage, ending one of the most successful casino shows in Las Vegas history.
But will it be back?
“A good magician never lets the cat out of the bag,” Horn, 63, says of the pair’s possible return to show business, adding: “Act surprised when you hear about it.”
Fischbacher, 68, says he marvels at Horn’s dedication to his recovery regimen, which involves daily rehabilitation and trips to a gym three times a week, including games of racquetball.
“It cheers me up,” Fischbacher says. “All the doctors say what he’s doing now is impossible.
“I’ve always said, ‘I am the magician, and Roy is the magic.’ And Roy shows me every day the magic – the magic of life.”
It’s 48 days for ‘24’ star
Kiefer Sutherland will spend the holidays in jail after being sentenced to 48 days for his second drunken-driving arrest in three years.
The 40-year-old “24” star was on probation for a 2004 drunken-driving arrest when he was stopped by police as he left a Hollywood party at a trendy nightclub on Sept. 25.
A new season of “24” was scheduled to begin in January, but Fox has postponed that because only eight episodes had been produced prior to the writers’ strike.
Aniston pinup shot down
An inmate in a Wisconsin prison cannot hang a picture of Jennifer Aniston in his room, the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled.
The Green Bay prison has a policy against inmates receiving commercially produced photos, saying they clog up the mail and often contained nudity or other forbidden content such as gang symbols.
Inmates are allowed to display pictures of noncelebrity friends and relatives, as well as photos published in magazines.
The court suggested convicted murderer Jevon Jackson could subscribe to celebrity magazines instead, adding that “the likelihood of an eventual photograph of (Aniston) is sufficiently high to suffice as an alternative.”
Doing their bidding
Users of eBay wanted more of Britney Spears than Paris Hilton this year.
The number of Spears-related items sold at the online auction site totaled 34,345, compared with 27,377 for Hilton.
Both fared far better than Lindsay Lohan, associated with only 8,099 items sold.
