A great rivalry

The Spokesman-Review

First of all, congratulations to the Cougars, whom I despise. They are clearly a legitimate national power after beating my Zags in the McCarthey Athletic Center on Wednesday night.

Though words cannot express my displeasure at the outcome, supporters of both schools can agree on one important thing:

This is a great rivalry.

Two well-known schools 90 minutes apart are good and playing each other on a regular basis. Shame on that sissy (Lorenzo) Romar in Seattle for cancelling a great series. Tony Bennett will not make that mistake, I’m sure.

With two young, intelligent coaches, this will be an entertaining and bitter rivalry for years to come. Bennett, I hate your team, but I beg you to keep playing GU – even if you beat us the next seven years.
