Fresh approach needed

Both of us totally agree with John Blanchette that it would serve no purpose in bringing back Mike Price to coach the Cougs again. He is old stuff and a has-been. Let him stay in Texas.

Do we want to wait another 10 years to have back-to-back winning seasons? No, we don’t. Price (if you remember) had decided to run off to Alabama when his team was headed to the Rose Bowl. He should not have been allowed to coach the team as he had already abandoned the players. Who says if he was hired he wouldn’t do as Dennis Erickson did to Idaho on the second time around, turn and run if a better offer came his way?

Jim Sterk needs to move on and hire someone new and younger, who can bring some new thought and ways of winning games. There are many good coaches out there who are eager to be part of the great Pac-10 Conference, so please listen to the fans and supporters of Coug football.

As far as Coach Doba is concerned, he was a class act (more than we can say for the new university president) and it is a shame he was treated this way. Coach Doba, we’ll always remember you and have a wonderful retirement.
