Paul leads Hornets to victory over Sonics
Chris Paul had 29 points and 10 assists to carry the New Orleans Hornets past the Seattle SuperSonics 91-88 on Sunday night at New Orleans.
David West hit a crucial jump shot and driving one-handed floater in the final minutes, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets, who won their second straight while snapping Seattle’s two-game winning streak.
Coming off a 35-point performance in a victory over Milwaukee on Friday night, Kevin Durant scored 23 against the Hornets, including his second 3-pointer of the game with 24.1 seconds to go to get the Sonics as close as 86-85. But after Bobby Jackson made a pair of clutch free throws at the other end, Durant missed a driving one-handed floater with 14.9 seconds to go.
Heat 100, Clippers 94: At Los Angeles, Dwyane Wade had 35 points and 10 assists and Miami snapped a five-game skid with a victory over the Clippers, giving coach Pat Riley his 1,200th victory.
Trail Blazers 117, Bucks 113 (OT): At Portland, Brandon Roy scored 21 points, including a go-ahead layup in overtime, and the Trail Blazers beat Milwaukee.
LaMarcus Aldridge had 24 points for the Blazers.
Raptors 93, Rockets 80: At Toronto, Chris Bosh had 21 points and 10 rebounds in his return to the Toronto lineup and the Raptors beat the Houston.
Kris Humphries added 16 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, for Toronto.
Wizards 104, Nets 89: At Washington, Caron Butler scored 20 of his 28 points in the second half, leading the Wizards to a victory over New Jersey.
Vince Carter scored 30 points to lead New Jersey.
Pistons 104, Bobcats 85: At Auburn Hills, Mich., Chauncey Billups scored 20 points and Antonio McDyess added 19 points and nine rebounds, leading Detroit to a win over Charlotte.
Richard Hamilton added 18 points for Detroit.
Lakers 123, Warriors 113: At Los Angeles, Kobe Bryant had 20 of his 28 points in the second half, six teammates scored in double figures, and the Lakers beat Golden State for their ninth straight win over the Warriors.
The win was the third straight for the Lakers.

More late night trouble for Jamaal Tinsley could present more problems for the Indiana Pacers.
Tinsley will meet today with team president Larry Bird and coach Jim O’Brien following a shooting incident in which the player was shot at early Sunday morning. It was Tinsley’s third late-night episode in about 14 months, and the latest in a three-year string of incidents that have engulfed the franchise.
Tinsley and several companions were targeted in the shooting that wounded one person outside a downtown hotel. Tinsley wasn’t injured.
