Pronger drives Ducks in OT
Chris Pronger scored a power-play goal with 1:45 left in overtime to give the Anaheim Ducks a 4-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night in Columbus, Ohio.
The 14-year veteran, who earlier added an assist in his 900th career game, blasted a point shot that deflected off the skate of Columbus defenseman Adam Foote and past a surprised Blue Jackets goalie Pascal Leclaire, who finished with 24 saves.
Corey Perry had two power-play scores and Samuel Pahlsson scored on a penalty shot for Anaheim, which has won three of four. Mathieu Schneider and Ryan Getzlaf each had two assists.
Bruins 4, Sabres 1: At Buffalo, Alex Auld made 44 saves, and Marc Savard had a goal and assist to lift Boston over the Sabres.
Auld was spectacular in his second straight win for the Bruins after being acquired from Phoenix on Thursday.
Capitals 3, Devils 2: At Washington, Jeff Schultz scored 53 seconds into the second period, lifting the Capitals to victory over New Jersey.
Schultz has only three goals in 23 games, but netted two in two contests. He found the net on Saturday during Washington’s win over Atlanta.
Maple Leafs 6, Lightning 1: At Toronto, Jason Blake started a four-goal spurt in the second period, Chad Kilger scored twice and the Maple Leafs routed Tampa Bay.
Matt Stajan, Nik Antropov and captain Mats Sundin also scored for the Leafs.
Red Wings 2, Predators 1: At Nashville, Tenn., Tomas Kopecky and Valterri Filppula scored and Detroit won its seventh straight, defeating the Predators.
Martin Gelinas scored for Nashville.
Stars 5, Oilers 4 (OT): At Dallas, Brenden Morrow’s power-play goal in overtime lifted the Stars over Edmonton.
Zubov scored and had three assists and Mike Modano notched his 517th career goal for the Stars, extending his career lead among U.S.-born players in goals and points (1,245).
Kings 4, Canucks 2: At Los Angeles, Anze Kopitar scored the go-ahead goal and Jean-Sebastien Aubin made 26 saves, leading the Kings to a victory over Vancouver.
Derek Armstrong and defenseman Brad Stuart also scored for Los Angeles, and Dustin Brown connected during a two-man power play in the third period to put the game out of reach.
