NEW FACES Dr. Mark Walterskirchen has been hired by Inland Northwest Urology in the practice of urology. He completed his internship at Michigan State University and his residency at Kansas University.

Derek Whitehall has been hired as a certified physician assistant at Springdale Community Health Center. He is a graduate of the Medex Northwest program at the University of Washington.

Nathan Deen has been hired as an associate by Witherspoon, Kelly, Davenport & Toole. He holds a degree from Washington and Lee University. His practice will include bank, corporate and securities law.

Nathan Fletcher has been hired as an electrical power engineer at H2E Incorporated. He previously worked for West Plains Engineering in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

AmericanWest Bank has hired Kim Boyden as a private banking officer. She has more than 15 years of banking experience.

Wesley Mortensen has been hired by Dunn & Black. His practice includes construction and civil litigation.

Megan Vulcan has been hired as an advanced registered nurse practitioner by the Rockwood Clinic general surgery group. She holds a master’s degree in nursing from Washington State University and is a nursing instructor at the Washington State University Intercollegiate College of Nursing in Spokane.

The Spokane Regional Sports Commission has hired Marla Emde as director of event services. She was previously co-owner of Emde Sports.

Cher Merrill has been hired as vice president of MarCom by Associated Industries. She previously worked as director of marketing and operations for Capacity Provisioning Inc. and CPI Computers in Western Washington.

Kootenai County Fire and Rescue has hired several new firefighter/EMTs. They are: Frank Harwood, Jamyson Hull, Bernard Kuehu, Samuel LaPresta, Amanda Mangano, Sean Nokes and Shaena Pelan.

PROMOTIONS Global Credit Union has promoted Teresa Berglin from real estate loan officer to sales manager at its Coeur d’Alene branch. She has been with the company since 2006.

Judi Baggarley has been promoted to assistant vice president at Sterling Savings Bank. She is the Human Resources Information System supervisor. She has been with the company since 2006.

Chris Dinwoodie has been promoted to regional strategic account director at Telect. He has worked with the company for more than a decade.

Alison Moerschell has been promoted to account executive at Rockey Hill & Knowlton. She holds a degree in public relations from Gonzaga University.

KUDOS Real estate agent Bret Minzghor of Century 21 Beutler & Associates was recently ranked number two in the nation in the Real Estate Top 200 Professionals for 2007 by the National Association of Realtors. The rankings are based on sales.

Dr. Thomas Laselle of Rockwood Clinic recently received the 2007 Internist of the Year award from the American College of Physicians. He practices general internal medicine with an emphasis in geriatrics. He has been with the Rockwood Clinic internal medicine group since 1978.

Brian Waltz, maintenance supervisor at Rockwood Retirement Communities, recently earned a level one building operator certification from the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council.

The Coeur d’Alene/Hayden Chapter of Letips was recently named the Inland Northwest Letip Chapter of the Year. The award was based on the quality of business mixers and the number of tips passed.

The Holiday Inn Express Spokane Valley recently received the 2007 Quality Excellence Award. The award is based on guest satisfaction.
