Corey Meyers scored a game-high 19 points and Deer Park survived a late Colville rally and beat the Indians 48-46 in both teams’ Great Northern League openers Tuesday in Deer Park.
Warren Weil and Kevin McNeil each added nine points for the Stags (5-1, 1-0) and Dan Hutchinson collected eight rebounds.
Devin Almas had a team-high 11 points for Colville (4-1, 0-1), which outscored Deer Park 23-17 during the fourth quarter to close the deficit.
Elsewhere in the league, Pullman built a big first-half lead and cruised past host Riverside (4-2, 0-1) 58-38. A.J. Sandford scored a game-high 19 points and AJ Therien added 12 for the Greyhounds (3-1, 1-0), who outscored the Rams 40-16 in the first half. … Jordan Lupfer-Graham scored 17 points and James Cahalan added 12 as West Valley (4-2, 1-0) slid past host Medical Lake 50-46. Gardner Torrence scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Cardinals (3-2, 0-1).

Jared Descoteaux added 14 points for the Crusaders (6-1, 5-0), who outscored the Warriors 42-10 in the second half. Garrett Jess led ACH (2-2, 2-2) with 13 points. … Ryan Schulz scored 16 points and Jacob Teaford added 15 as Reardan defeated visiting Valley Christian 63-47.
