Christmas events

“Shadle Park Presbyterian Church will host two Christmas Eve candlelight services.

A contemporary service will begin at 4 p.m. and a traditional service with the choir will begin at 9. The church is at 5508 N. Alberta St.

“A 5 p.m. worship service on Christmas Eve at Unity Church will include the children’s program, “Waiting for the Christmas Secret.”

Additional candlelight services will begin at 8 and 10 p.m. Monday. The church is at 2900 S. Bernard St.

“St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 24th Avenue and Grand Boulevard, will host three Christmas Eve worship services.

The 4 p.m. service will include a children’s time. The 6 and 11 p.m. services will include Communion and the last service will feature a performance by the Chancel Choir.

“Harpist Leslie Stratton Norris will perform during the 4 p.m. service on Christmas Eve at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. The Cathedral’s Junior Choir also will perform.

A 10:30 p.m. service will be preceded by a small concert at 9:15. The Cathedral Brass and Cathedral Choir will perform during the service. A Christmas Day service will begin at 10 a.m.

The cathedral is at 127 E. 12th Ave.

“St. John’s Lutheran Church will have a family Christmas Eve service at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the church’s new location at 5810 S. Meadowlane Road.

The church will hold a service at 10 a.m. on Christmas Day.

“”A Spokane Valley Christmas Story,” written by the Rev. Linda Crowe, will be presented during the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday at the Veradale United Church of Christ, 611 N. Progress Road.

The church will host a service with Christmas carols and poetry at 7:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

“Christ the King Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene will begin Christmas Eve services at 3, 5, 7 and 10 p.m. Monday.

The church, at 1700 Pennsylvania Ave., also will have a service at 10 a.m. on Christmas Day.

“The Lutheran Church of the Master in Coeur d’Alene will host Christmas Eve services at 5 and 9 p.m. Monday. The church is at 4800 Ramsey Road.

“A Christmas Eve service will begin at 11 p.m. Monday at the Metaline Falls Congregational United Church of Christ, 101 W. Fifth in Metaline Falls, Wash.

A reception featuring spiced cider will precede the service at 10 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
