People: Call him Edward Signer-hand
Want an autograph from Johnny Depp? Chances are, he’ll sign something for you – and not be a jerk about it.
For the third straight year, the “Sweeney Todd” star tops Autograph magazine’s annual list of the “10 Best and 10 Worst Hollywood Signers.”
“Though soft-spoken and laid-back, he likes to talk to fans and get to know them while signing,” New York autograph dealer Anthony Risi says of Depp. “He’ll sign more than one item when he has time, too.”
Matt Damon is second on the “best” list, followed by George Clooney, Jack Nicholson, Rosario Dawson, John Travolta, Katherine Heigl, Jay Leno, Dakota Fanning and … Russell Crowe?
Despite his history of temper tantrums, the magazine says, Crowe has “started treating fans great, signing, taking pictures and chatting them up.”
Will Ferrell is deemed the worst celebrity signer, followed by Tobey Maguire, Joaquin Phoenix, William Shatner, Renee Zellweger, John Malkovich, Julie Andrews, Bruce Willis, Teri Hatcher and Scarlett Johansson.
After ‘O.C.’ comes DUI
Mischa Barton was arrested Thursday morning for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol and possessing marijuana after officers saw her car straddling two lanes.
Barton, 21, who starred on Fox’s teen drama “The O.C.,” spent about seven hours in jail before being released on $10,000 bail.
Not getting any younger
Rapper Yung Joc finally showed up for his arraignment Wednesday on charges of taking a loaded gun into an airport – seven hours late.
His only comment to reporters as he left the courtroom: “Happy New Year.”
Shaken and stirred
A judge has barred both Sean Connery and his neighbors from filing any more lawsuits against each other without her permission.
His neighbors say the James Bond movie star’s renovations to his part of their 1869 New York City townhouse have subjected them to noise, fumes, leaks and rats, ruining their collection of antique wicker furniture.
Connery claims the complaints have delayed needed repairs to his roof.
