A collision in northeast Spokane this morning ended with two people being sent to the hospital and their vehicles lodged into two buildings.

As first reported on spokesmanreview.com, a pickup crashed into Snoops Saloon, and a red sedan crashed through a fence before ending up stuck in the porch of a mobile home near the corner of North Cincinnati Street and East Rosewood.

Spokane police Officer Glenn Bartlett said the injuries are not life-threatening.

Another police officer said there is no evidence of pre-impact braking, although officers are still working out details of the collision.

The mobile home’s owner, Bill Thew, was sitting in his pickup preparing to head to work when the crash occurred.

“I heard a noise and looked up, and here comes the car,” Thew said.

“I guess I’ll have to replace my fence. I’m just glad my dog wasn’t in the yard,” he added.

Bartlett warned of the dangers of uncontrolled intersections such as the one in this accident. He said taking shortcuts on side streets can be hazardous.

“It’s not illegal to do, but it’s not the safest thing to do,” Bartlett said.
