Sacred music concert

The Cheney High School Concert Choir and Show Choir will present a concert of sacred, folk and popular music Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.

The concert is part of the cathedral’s Second Sunday series.

The planned music ranges from “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” to the sea chanty “What Do You Do With a Drunken Sailor.” The school’s Show Choir is also known for its choreography.

Admission is by donation. The cathedral is located at 127 E. 12th Ave.

Poetry and music

A fundraiser set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Salem Lutheran Church, 1428 W. Broadway Ave., will include a mix of music, poetry and chocolate. The story of St. Valentine will be shared, and there also will be a raffle.

Tickets are $15. Proceeds will benefit Our Place Community Ministries, which is raising money for a laundry facility.

Anyone interested in learning more about Orthodox Christianity is invited to attend a question-and-answer session Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1703 N. Washington St.
