Handle On Business: Goetz Insurance, Grupp Law move to new spot
If one of these businesses involved music, this item would be easier to follow. Instead, hum a few quick bars and stop to see where you are in a musical stores game. When one business moves to a new location, others move into the previous spot, etc., etc.
Brian and Brenda Goetz built neighboring 5,200-square-foot structures at 840 and 850 Kathleen Ave., Coeur d’Alene. Each of the two-level buildings is designed for two occupants.
The Goetz’s State Farm Insurance Agency and the Grupp Law Firm moved to the 840 building last month. The 850 building should be ready for occupancy by the end of the month. Architect is Tim Wilson of Momentum Architecture, and the general contractor is Williamson Johnson Co. of Coeur d’Alene.
Here’s where the musical buildings theory gets a brotherly theme.
Both Wilson and Jim Williamson (of Williamson Johnson) are Goetz’s clients, as are those involved in the project – David Sheridan of Sheridan Electric; Steve Bruno of Bruno Masonry; finish carpenters Pat Adams and Jeff Wendt; flooring specialist Bill Gifford; Bob Stanley of North Coast Electric; Sonie Combs of ReMax by the Lake; and David Ziegler of Windermere Real Estate. Combs also is the contact (929-0280) for leasing a space. Prospective tenants include a dentist, real estate company and financial services group.
Get the connection? It’s kind of like recruiting customers from your church.
The Goetzes came to Coeur d’Alene in 2001. He has 15 years with the company and sells and services all its insurance and financial service products. For information, call 667-6468.
Meanwhile, the Grupp Law Firm is made up of attorneys Matthew Grupp and Noland Peterdy and four employees. Their specialties are estate and business planning, for which they offer free monthly seminars. For information, call 665-4600.
Originally from Los Angeles, Grupp was educated at the University of Montana and New York University. He worked in California before coming to North Idaho in 2004. From New York originally, Peterdy was educated at Mercer University in Atlanta and St. Louis University and also has pharmacy and business degrees. Discovering North Idaho through friends, he came here from Missouri in 2001.
We aren’t done with this game.
Wiiliamson and Johnson contractors also bought and moved into Goetz’s former offices at 1701 N. Third St. They have 11 employees and a combined 30 years’ experience in the construction business. They specialize in commercial projects. Call 765-0214 for information.
So, who are the winners in this game? You, because now you know all this stuff. And me, because it filled most of my space.
UPS moves in Post Falls
United Parcel Service early this week moved into its new 2,500-square-foot spaces at 1869 E. Seltice Way (between the Conoco station and Moon’s Mongolian Grill) in Post Falls.

This week’s tidbits
“It’s cool how some businesses are active in their communities. For example, Taco John’s gives gift certificates to students with A’s on their report cards and to teachers.
“Last Sunday’s Super Bowl was a bit nostalgic although the “other” team won. Having been with the Coast Guard in Chicago for a few years, I, of course, was for the Bears. Going deeper, 40 years ago my only Rosdahl-side cousin, Harrison (Hatch) Rosdahl, was a guard for the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl I, later with the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets. He died in 2004.
“It’s embarrassing, but I’m sure glad ATM machines usually swallow a card if you accidentally leave it inside. Of course, you still have to cancel the card and order a new one. Hmm. This sounds like someone who has done that recently. It doesn’t go over big with one’s domestic financial director.
