Portland posts fall dean’s list

University of Portland has announced its list of Eastern Washington and North Idaho students who were named to the dean’s list for fall semester.

Students are listed by their hometowns.

•The College of Arts and Sciences of Loyola University of Chicago announced Spokane resident Megan Tracy to the dean’s list for the first semester of the 2006-07 academic year. Tracy is a 2006 graduate of Gonzaga Prep.

•A four-week residency in Bellagio, Italy, has been awarded to Robert Wrigley, through the Rockefeller Fellowship at the University of Idaho. Wrigley is a professor of English and director of the graduate creative writing program at UI.

•Washington State University announced Spokane resident and December nursing graduate Trevor Read will be a second lieutenant in the Army. Read is the son of Darcy and Don Read of Spokane.

•Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University has announced Karen Walker of Spokane to the dean’s list for the fall quarter of 2006-07 academic year.

•Coastal Carolina University announced Rachel Bonertz of Spokane to the president’s list for the fall semester.

•Eastern Washington University has announced its list of scholarship recipients for the 2006-07 academic year.

David Lindsay of Spokane was awarded $1,500 for the African American Education Program’s Multicultural Achievement scholarship.

Wayne Spitzer of Spokane was awarded $300 for the Patrick McManus scholarship.

Samuel Buzby of Newman Lake was awarded $1,000 for the Eagle Award scholarship.

James Holshchen of Spokane was awarded $1,000 for the Eleanor and Clifton Rock Economics scholarship.

Jerome Funchess of Spokane was awarded $1,150 for the Frank Schadegg scholarship.
