Pariseau not nondescript
John Blanchette has a wonderful way with words … usually. However, he may be suffering from a malady common to media types, that is, selective memory, describing Danny Pariseau as a “nondescript” player when he was at Eastern Washington.
Nearly cracking the top 10 in assists at EWU in only three years is not “nondescript.”
Danny has always played flat out, hair flopping in the breeze; definitely not “nondescript” in my Roget’s. True, “DW” rarely put up the big scoring numbers, which seem to be all reporters can remember. Yes, I am proudly related to Danny (his aunt), and I’m also proud to say I’ve undoubtedly seen him play many more times than your esteemed columnist. So, Mr. Blanchette, just remember: Assists don’t score points … they win games.
