Techsters topple Vandals
Ty Moore’s layup with 31 seconds to play Saturday night sealed Louisiana Tech’s 78-71 Western Athletic Conference win over Idaho at Ruston, La.
Moore scored a team-high 18 points and hauled in 13 rebounds for the Lady Techsters (15-11, 10-3), who also received 15 points and five rebounds from Shan Moore.
Lindsey Koppen led a group of five Vandals (5-19, 2-11) in double figures with 19 points.
Idaho’s Katie Madison chipped in 14 points, and Sara Dennehy posted 12 with six rebounds.
•Cassie Pilkinton shot 6 of 8 from the floor and 8 of 8 from the line on her way to 21 points, leading North Idaho (19-7, 11-5 Scenic West Athletic Conference) past Colorado Northwestern (5-20, 0-16) 90-61 at Coeur d’Alene.
•Stephanie Hawk poured in a game-high 20 points and Heather Bowman added 19, leading Gonzaga to an 88-58 thumping of Portland (9-18, 1-11) in West Coast Conference play at Portland.
Hawk, who shot 6 of 8 from the field and 7 of 10 from the line, also collected eight rebounds for the Bulldogs (19-9, 11-1).
Katy Ridenour chipped in with 11 points for Gonzaga, which led 46-24 at the half.
•Cameo Hicks scored 13 points, and Jill Bell and Cheri Craddock added 12 apiece and Washington (16-11, 9-7) cruised to an easy 81-49 Pac-10 win over Washington State in Pullman.
Marisa Stotler recorded 19 points and seven rebounds for the Cougars (5-21, 1-15), who lost their 15th straight.
•Nikki DePeel scored a game-high 20 points including 5-of-7 shooting from the 3-point line, leading Columbia Basin (19-7, 10-3) past Community Colleges of Spokane 77-57 in Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges play at Pasco.
Emily Wittkopf and Ali Mittlestadt scored 18 and 11, respectively, for the Sasquatch (17-9, 7-6).
