Northeast A League

Jordan Harazin scored 13 points and Sadie Lazzarini added 10 as Colfax topped Chewelah 55-48 Friday to take over sole position of first place in the League.

Lauren Mellor chipped in nine points and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (9-1, 1-0), who outscored the Cougars (8-2, 0-1) 15-7 in the fourth quarter.

Chewelah’s Nikki Nelson led all scorers with 19 points.

In other league action, Carley Heinen scored 20 points on 9-of-16 shooting as Freeman (9-2, 1-0) beat visiting Newport 61-37. Alicia Smith scored 17 points to lead the Grizzlies (4-6, 0-1). … Kellie Tikker had 20 points, six rebounds and six steals and Kia Gibson chipped in 14 points and nine rebounds as host Lakeside (8-3, 1-0) beat Kettle Falls (2-5, 0-1) 54-36 in Nine Mile Falls.

Misty Atkinson scored 13 points as Clarkston (5-2, 2-0) beat host Medical Lake (3-5, 0-2) 44-27.
