The Slice

THE SLICE

Sometimes kids hear what’s being said but they don’t really understand.

For example, consider the case of 7-year-old Gracie.

This little girl underwent neurosurgery in Seattle last summer. And last week, her family took her back for a follow-up appointment.

While in Seattle, Gracie’s family also stopped at the Pacific Science Center to check out an exhibit featuring the Dead Sea Scrolls.

The scrolls, as you probably know, are regarded by many as one of the greatest archeological discoveries of the 20th century. But apparently the little girl did not fully comprehend the nature of the exhibit. Because at one point while her family was at the Science Center, a puzzled Gracie turned to her dad and asked, “Where are the dead squirrels?”
