Achievements : Area residents receive WSU Regents Scholarships

Washington State University has announced the recipients of 14 Crimson-level Regents Scholarships worth $6,000 over two years. Recipients are high school seniors who hold a grade-point average of 3.8 or higher.

Peter Bierig, a student at Lewis and Clark High School, is the son of Frances and Brian Bierig of Spokane.

Brittany Birkett, a student at University High School, is the daughter of Patricia and David Birkett of Spokane Valley.

Maggie Capwell, the daughter of Colleen Capwell of Spokane, is a student at North Central High School.

Lara Curtis, a student at University High School, is the daughter of Janet and David Curtis of Veradale.

Samantha Damiano, the daughter of Shannon and Patrick Damiano of Mead, is a student at Mt. Spokane High School.

Lindsay Farnsworth, a student at Mead High School, is the daughter of Kari and Brad Farnsworth of Mead.

Ali Forsyth, the daughter of Libby and Greg Forsyth of Nine Mile Falls, is a student at Lakeside High School.

Luke Grimsrud, the son of Marla and Alan Grimsrud of Spokane, is a student at Shadle Park High School.

Marcus Hutchens, a student at Rogers High School, is the son of Laura and James Hutchens of Spokane.

Jonathan Lai, a student at Mt. Spokane High School, is the son of Grace and Y.S. Lai of Spokane.

Alexander Luce, the son of Stephanie Zoldak of Spokane, is a student at Ferris High School.

John Marlow, a student at East Valley High School, is the son of Mary Marlow of Spokane.
