Dear Heloise: While having my breakfast the other day, I got the old brain in gear, and I got to thinking about food and the Super Bowl.

If each and every person who was going to be present at the Super Bowl would bring one can of nonperishable food, think of the results. The food could be placed in boxes to help the food banks.

Most of these attendees are in a really good mood, and the added cost of less than $1 for a day of good fun and entertainment would not break anyone’s bank account. I figured there might be tens of thousands of people in attendance, and if all brought only one can, that would be a lot of cans. – W.B. in Louisiana

This year’s Super Bowl is in Miami Gardens, Fla., on Feb. 4. It might be too late for this year, but I challenge the host city for next year to give this idea consideration. – Heloise
