The Spokesman-Review

Thanks for article warning of choking dangers

I just wanted to thank The Spokesman-Review for running an article (Valley Voice, Dec. 16) about my baby that swallowed a piece of a glass ornament.

I hope that the article brought some light to the dangers of glass Christmas ornaments or anything that is glass or any little toys or pieces of things that are around babies.

You never think that it will happen to you but then something like that happens. It is very life-changing for parents. I am the parent of three children and I never thought that anything like that would happen to one of my children but now I know that I was wrong.

Please do not let babies be around glass or anything with tiny pieces. It doesn’t take much to choke an infant and a lot of people just don’t realize things like that.

Thank you so much for letting Spokane know what can happen in an instant. It is much more devastating for the rest of your life when it does happen.
