Auditions

The Little Mermaid– Missoula Children’s Theatre, Feb. 5, 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the Sandpoint Charter School, 614 S. Madison in Sandpoint. Between 50 and 60 students in grades K-12 are needed; no advance preparation required. The first rehearsal begins after the auditions; rehearsals will be held daily Feb. 5-9, with two performances Feb. 10. Call (208) 263-6139.

“The Nerd” – Spokane Civic Theatre, Feb. 5 and 6, 6:30 p.m. on the theater’s Main Stage, 1020 N. Howard. Needed: two women, one appearing 25-30 and one 35-50; four men, three who appear to be in their mid-30s and on appearing 45-60; and one boy who appears 8-10. Auditioners are asked to prepare a one-minute contemporary monologue and will read cold from the script. Call (509) 325-1413.

“Bunnicula!” – Spokane Children’s Theatre, Feb. 4, 4-7 p.m. and Feb. 5, 6-9 p.m. at St. Aloysius School, 611 E. Mission. Callbacks will be Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. Needed: two boys to appear between 8 and 10 years old; one woman and one man to appear between 16 and 40; one woman to appear between 30 and 40; and one man to appear between 35 and 45. Writing seminar – The Idaho Writers’ League hosts author Mary Buckham on “Write for Life: From Articles to Full-Length Books,” Feb. 16, 6-9 p.m. and Feb. 17, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Best Western Coeur d’Alene Inn, 414 W. Idaho Prize for Poetry 2007 – The Lost Horse Press is accepting submissions of book-length poetry manuscripts for publication. Entries are due by May 15. 2007 Playwrights’ Forum Festival – One-act plays (no longer than 60 minutes) are being accepted for the Spokane Civic Theatre’s annual festival in June.
