Hoping Moore’s the merrier

From Wire Reports The Spokesman-Review

At age 22, Mandy Moore has a lot going for her, including a starring role opposite Diane Keaton in the upcoming movie comedy “Because I Said So.”

Even so, she’s grappled with depression.

“A few months ago I felt really low, really sad. Depressed for no reason,” the actress-singer says in an interview in the February issue of Jane magazine.

“I’m a very positive person, and I’ve always been glass-half-full,” she says. “So it was like someone flipped a switch in me. I wanted to figure out why.”

Moore, newly single after high-profile relationships with “Scrubs” star Zach Braff and tennis standout Andy Roddick, says her recent split with Braff didn’t help matters.

But writing songs for a new album has been “really therapeutic,” she says.

As for her early music career, the formerly squeaky-clean teen singer says: “I feel bad that people wasted their money on such trite, blah pop music.”

Couching his words

“Grey’s Anatomy” star Isaiah Washington announced Wednesday he’s entered therapy for using an anti-gay slur against a castmate.

“With the support of my family and friends, I have begun counseling. I regard this as a necessary step toward understanding why I did what I did and making sure it never happens again,” he said.

It was unclear whether the treatment program would affect his participation in ABC’s top-rated show.

Washington took a break from filming Tuesday to meet with gay rights activists and offer help in educating the public about the cruelty of such words.

Drinking it all in

Miss USA Tara Conner, who was ordered into rehab after admitting to underage drinking, has completed her program and checked out of a Pennsylvania facility.

“Right now she’s just going to get used to being out,” a source told the New York Daily News. “She needs some time to breathe.”

Blair wench project?

Monica Lewinsky is looking for work in London after getting her master’s degree from the London School of Economics.

A publicist for the Lewinsky, 33, the former White House intern at the center of the scandal that nearly toppled former President Clinton, said she plans to stay in Britain for “awhile.”

Tour de Paris

Finally, for those who haven’t yet had their fill of Paris Hilton, a new Web site that has posted a seemingly endless offering of the celebutante’s belongings.

ParisExposed.com boasts an array of photos, home videos, diaries, love letters and recorded phone conversations, all reportedly left behind at a Los Angeles storage facility.

Users must pay a monthly fee of $39.97 to gain access to the site, which promises to show the 25-year-old heiress in a “sexy bubble bath” video along with footage of her drinking with friends and using illegal substances.
