Miller propels Bears to win over Timberwolves
Apparently Moscow’s Shane Miller has little problem with stepping up and shouldering the weight of his entire team.
Miller scored a game-high 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds Saturday as Moscow slid by visiting Lake City 47-44 in an Inland Empire League boys game.
Miller made all 11 of his free-throw attempts for the Bears (13-3, 7-1), who were 9 of 11 from the line in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Ty Stoddard tallied a team-high 13 points and Ben Carroll added 10 off the bench to lead the Timberwolves (11-5, 5-3).
•Matt Pluid tossed in a game-high 14 points and Harmon Newhouse added 12 points and nine rebounds as Bonners Ferry (13-4, 4-1) topped visiting Priest River (8-7, 1-2) 49-31 in an Intermountain League game. Casey Langford chipped in 11 points for the Badgers, who built a 28-15 halftime lead.
•Jonathan Fuller scored 13 points and Ty Ketchum added 10 as Kellogg (10-5) cruised to an easy 52-30 non-league win over host Wallace (10-6). Alex Johnson and Joshua McDonald chipped in eight points apiece for the Wildcats, who outscored the Miners 16-8 in the first quarter and led 30-16 at halftime. Jared Bilaski tallied a team-high 12 points for Wallace.
•Ben Aune scored 21 points and Jared Berarducci added 20 as Colfax topped host Kettle Falls 56-49 in a Northeast A League game. Aune converted on 13 of his 14 free-throw attempts for Colfax (14-3, 6-1), who built a 31-22 halftime-lead. Jakobi Bradeen led Kettle Falls (5-11, 2-5) with 14 points.

Katie Baker scored 14 points and Emma Hawn added 11 as Lake City (17-3, 9-3) cruised to an easy 61-34 Inland Empire League win over host Moscow (3-17, 2-10). Amanda Krier tallied a career-high 10 points off the bench for the Timberwolves, who outscored the Bears 37-14 in the first half. Lauren Bender tossed in a team-high 12 points for Moscow.
•Katie Poston scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Bonners Ferry (13-7, 7-1) clinched the Intermountain League title with a 56-36 win over visiting Priest River (13-6, 4-3). Becky Lowther added 17 points for the Badgers, who led 31-13 at halftime. Taylor Stewart tallied eight points to lead the Spartans. … Elsewhere in the Intermountain League, Amanda Seeling scored 17 points and Marisa Bush added 15 as Kellogg (17-2, 5-2) routed Timberlake (4-15, 1-6) 55-33 at Spirit Lake. The Wildcats caught fire in the second half, outscoring the Tigers 35-17. Ashley Porter tallied a team-high 12 points and Holli Edelblute chipped in 10 to lead Timberlake.
•Kylie Shaw scored 14 points and Jordan Harazin added 11 as Colfax (15-2, 7-0) whipped host Kettle Falls (2-12, 0-7) 60-29 in a Northeast A League game. Lauren Mellor and Elise Markley added nine points apiece for Colfax, who outscored Kettle Falls 19-2 in the third quarter.
