Last year we did a quick mention of innovative shopping search site Mpire.com. One thing we didn’t mention was that the Seattle-based Mpire’s site has a handy interface with Craigslist‘s for-sale listings. This means, drum roll, that from Mpire you can do a quick search of several Craigslist cities for any given item you want to buy. That’s kinda neat.
It’s not so obvious that you’ll see it on the main Mpire page. You have to first enter an item in the search box. Up come two tabs: new items and eBay auctions. Off to the right of the tabs will be a drop-down choice saying Craigslist (select a location). Say you want to buy a digital camera, the Canon S2. Plunk that in and search. Then drop down the menu and choose your city: The choices are arranged alphabetically and include all our regional centers, including Boise, Portland, Seattle and one just for Montana.
Local journalism is essential.
Give directly to The Spokesman-Review's Northwest Passages community forums series -- which helps to offset the costs of several reporter and editor positions at the newspaper -- by using the easy options below. Gifts processed in this system are not tax deductible, but are predominately used to help meet the local financial requirements needed to receive national matching-grant funds.
