Blue Jays 10, Athletics 3: At Oakland, Calif., Matt Stairs homered and drove in four runs, Dustin McGowan pitched seven scoreless innings and Toronto wrapped up a 10-game road trip with a victory over the Athletics. The Blue Jays chased Oakland starter Joe Kennedy with four runs in the first inning.

Twins 6, Yankees 2: At New York, Johan Santana pitched seven crisp innings to win his fourth straight start and Jason Kubel hit a tiebreaking homer that helped Minnesota beat the Yankees. Santana gave up two runs and four hits, struck out five and walked two.

Red Sox 7, Devil Rays 5: At Boston, All-Star Mike Lowell homered to help carry a lineup of Red Sox reserves, and Tim Wakefield shut down Tampa Bay to lead Boston to a victory and hand the Devil Rays their 10th consecutive loss.

Tigers 6, Indians 4: At Detroit, Brandon Inge drove in a pair of runs and Kenny Rogers made another strong start after shoulder surgery, as the Tigers beat Cleveland to snap their six-game winning streak. Rogers allowed two runs – one earned – on seven hits, walking three and striking out three in 5 1/3 innings.

Orioles 9, White Sox 6: At Chicago, Jay Gibbons homered and Kevin Millar hit a pair of doubles as Baltimore beat the White Sox. Rob Bell pitched 1 2/3 innings for the win.

Rangers 4, Angels 2: At Arlington, Texas, Jamey Wright allowed two runs in six innings, Marlon Byrd drove in the tiebreaking run with a sixth-inning single, and the Rangers beat Los Angeles. Wright gave up five hits, struck out two and walked two.
