Spokane Valley Fire Commissioners – Members discussed the City of Spokane Valley City Center proposal timeline. The 2008 Budget planning retreat also was discussed, but no date has been set. Resolution 2007-285 declared department property as “surplus.” This includes two vehicles, one Ford shop truck and one Ford Explorer. There was a discussion about future construction projects and an architectural service agreement. The Spokane Valley Fire Department sent a letter to the recipient of the Citizen Award which included an invitation to a formal reception in her honor, held at Spokane Valley Fire Station I on July 2.

Fairfield City Council – The council approved Internet services through Red Spectrum. A public hearing was held and a six-year transportation implementation plan was approved. A maintenance schedule was set up for the skateboard park. An ordinance was passed regulating motorized scooters, and an EWC grant was received for repairing the ballpark backstop. Central Valley SCOPE – Due to the July 4 holiday, this week’s meeting is rescheduled for Thursday. During the next meeting, members will plan and discuss the “National Night Out” event, to be held on Aug. 7. This event will serve as the August meeting. (Board member Deanna Hormann)
