Holcomb helps send Indians to another loss
PASCO – Darin Holcomb (Gonzaga University/Shadle Park High) scored the winning run on Maruis Loupadiere’s two-out single Thursday as Tri-City defeated the Spokane Indians 3-2 in 11 innings in Northwest League baseball at Dust Devils Stadium.
Holcomb opened the 11th off Jordan Stewart (1-1) with a single. He moved to second on a groundout and scored on Loupadiere’s liner to center field.
The Dust Devils (8-15) have won the first two games of the three-game set. Spokane (9-14) lost its sixth consecutive game and dropped into a first-place tie in the East Division with Boise, which defeated Yakima 14-13 in 10 innings.
Spokane led 2-1 after Renny Osuna scored on a wild pitch in the fourth. T-C drew even in the seventh on Everth Cabrera’s second RBI double of the game.
The Indians blew a chance in the 11th, after putting runners at second and third with one out. John Rodriguez (1-1) relieved and coaxed a popup and lineout.
