Get out, get going

Three wishes

» The story has been told in print and in the movie theaters. Now the story of "Aladdin and His Magic Lamp" will come to the stage at the Spokane Valley Community Center. The production is being put on by Theater Arts for Children. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays through July 29.

» Admission to the show is $5. The Community Center is at 10814 E. Broadway Ave. Call the theater at 892-5413 for more information.

Rock out

» The musical group The Fat Tones will perform their mix of blues and rock music Sunday as part of the summer concert series at the Arbor Crest Winery. The performance begins at 5:30 p.m. and is limited to those age 21 and over. The scenic winery is at 4705 N. Fruit Hill Road. Despite the pastoral outdoor setting pets are not welcome, so leave Fido at home. No outside alcohol is allowed.

Fun for kids

» The Spokane County libraries in the Valley area are awash in fun kids activities this week. In addition to the usual storytimes there are wildlife events, dinosaur events, a sewing class and even "Clue Done It" sessions for teens to use their mystery solving skills.
