Cubs 6, Astros 0: At Chicago, Carlos Zambrano threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings as the Cubs continued what they’d started before the break, beating Houston for their 13th win in 17 games.

Braves 9, Pirates 1: At Atlanta, Andruw Jones and Brian McCann hit back-to-back homers to start a six-run sixth inning and the Braves beat Pittsburgh.

Reds 8, Mets 4: At New York, Brandon Phillips hit a first-inning grand slam and drove in six runs, leading Cincinnati to a victory over the Mets.

Phillies 13, Cardinals 3: At Philadelphia, Kyle Kendrick had another effective outing and drove in two runs, and the Phillies stayed on 9,999 losses with a victory over St. Louis.

Nationals 14, Marlins 10: At Miami, Dmitri Young hit a three-run double to cap Washington’s six-run fourth inning, helping Washington beat Florida. Young drove in four runs.

Rockies 10, Brewers 6: At Milwaukee, Troy Tulowitzki and Yorvit Torrealba each hit two-run homers in a decisive fifth inning as Colorado rallied to beat the Brewers.

Diamondbacks 8, Padres 3: At Phoenix, rookie Jeff Salazar had three hits and made a spectacular catch to rob Brian Giles of a home run as Arizona beat San Diego.

Dodgers 9, Giants 1: At San Francisco, Chad Billingsley pitched six scoreless innings, Andre Ethier hit a three-run double in a six-run ninth and Los Angeles defeated the Giants.
