TUESDAY

Conkling Marina & Resort, on Lake Coeur d’Alene, has been sold to developers from Bellevue, Wash., signaling change in the future for the family-oriented property. The new owner, Entezar Development Group, specializes in custom homes priced above $2 million, but says no decisions have been made on plans for the marina property.

Avista Utilities’ North Idaho customers will either pay extra or receive a credit on monthly power bills starting this fall as the utility begins a new program designed to help it recoup unpredictable power supply expenses.

WEDNESDAY

A California firm that makes springs for the aerospace industry is moving to Hayden. Titan Springs & Wire Products plans to start operations at a 15,000-square-foot plant in October.

A 1950s-era dairy barn in Coeur d’Alene will become the centerpiece of a planned residential development aimed at people 55 and older near Kathleen Avenue and U.S. Highway 95. The Meadow Ranch project plans 223 units on 12 acres.

THURSDAY

Pondera Engineers LLC, which created a computer application used by engineers to design power transmission lines, recently moved from the Sirti Technology Center to Riverbend Commerce Park in Post Falls as it looks to expand.

“ Forbes Magazine ranked Washington and Idaho fifth and sixth, respectively, among the best states in which to do business. Washington’s labor, regulatory environment and growth were cited as particular strengths.

FRIDAY

A steakhouse planned for the former Joel Inc. building in downtown Spokane will include a separate, members-only cigar club that people can join for $1,000 a year. In order to abide by state anti-smoking laws, the owners installed separate heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems.

“ Two Spokane-based employment-services organizations will receive $4.1 million in federal money this year to help low-income parents find work.
