Red Sox 10, White Sox 3: At Boston, Josh Beckett had 10 strikeouts, Coco Crisp had a three-run triple and Julio Lugo smacked a grand slam as the Red Sox snapped a three-game losing streak with a win over Chicago.

Royals 10, Tigers 2: At Detroit, Billy Butler had four hits and four RBIs, leading Gil Meche and Kansas City past the Tigers. Mark Grudzielanek also had four hits for the Royals and Meche improved to 4-0 in his last seven starts, giving up two runs and five hits in seven innings.

Twins 7, Angels 5: At Minneapolis, Justin Morneau homered, drove in three runs and helped get Minnesota’s struggling offense going, leading the Twins past John Lackey and Los Angeles.

Devil Rays 14, Yankees 4: At New York, Edwin Jackson won on the road for the first time since 2003 and B.J. Upton hit two homers to help Tampa Bay rout the Yankees. Dioner Navarro hit his first career grand slam for the Devil Rays, who beat Mike Mussina for the first time in eight starts at Yankee Stadium.

Indians 3, Rangers 2: At Arlington, Texas, Fausto Carmona allowed three hits over eight shutout innings and Cleveland survived a shaky ninth for a victory over the Rangers. Travis Hafner homered and Victor Martinez had three doubles for the Indians.

Orioles 6, Athletics 1: At Oakland, Calif., Erik Bedard struck out 11 and won his fifth straight decision, leading Baltimore past the Athletics. Bedard allowed one hit in seven innings and increased his major league-leading strikeout total to 167.
