In brief: Rogers student will be cited at game
Boys & Girls Club members wearing club T-shirts will receive free admission to to the Spokane Riverhawks baseball game Wednesday at Patterson Baseball Complex on the Gonzaga University campus. Game time is 7 p.m.
The game will honor Daniel Anderson, 17. Anderson is a member of the club and has been awarded the Pacific Regional STAR Award by Major League Baseball. He was selected for the award from a field of over 250 nominees and will throw out the first pitch of the game.
Anderson will be a senior at Rogers High School next year, has been a member of the Boys & Girls Club since 2001 and plays football, basketball and competes in track and field. For more information call Heather Jewell at 487-0741.

Treat day will aid Miracle Network
Dairy Queen will present Miracle Treat Day Aug. 9 to benefit Children’s Miracle Network. The proceeds from all Blizzard sales will benefit the charity.
This year there is a special message on some of the Blizzard cups from Spokane resident Jacob Bogdanoff, a 5-year-old who has been treated for leukemia.
Nationally, Dairy Queen raised $3.3 million for Children’s Miracle Network during Miracle Treat Day last year
