In brief: Knicks’ Curry, family robbed at gunpoint
Three masked robbers broke into the suburban Chicago home of New York Knicks center Eddy Curry on Saturday morning and held his family and an employee at gunpoint.
Deputy chief of police John Madden said the three offenders restrained Curry, his family and an employee with duct tape at the Burr Ridge home.
No one was injured in the incident, and the robbers made off with cash and jewelry.
“Federal agents investigating NBA referee Tim Donaghy for alleged gambling activities have focused in part on his ties to sports bookmakers in the Philadelphia region, people close to the investigation said.

Fighters set date
Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Ricky Hatton have agreed to terms for a welterweight showdown on Dec. 8. No site has been selected, but it appears the fight is headed for Las Vegas.
Mayweather-Hatton will feature two undefeated world champions from different continents – Hatton is from Manchester, England – in the prime of their careers.

Ailing Roddick ousted
Frank Dancevic used 15 aces to eliminate an ailing Andy Roddick 6-4, 7-6 (1) and advance in the final of the Indianapolis Tennis Championships, where he’ll face Russian Dimitry Tursunov.
Roddick said he began to feel ill in the first set, bothered by what he called “a stomach bug or something.”
“Juan Monaco and Potito Starace will play in the final of the Austrian Open in Kitzbuehel, Austria.
Monaco beat 11th-seeded Fernando Verdasco 7-5, 7-5, while Starace upset defending champion Agustin Calleri 6-4, 7-5 in the semifinals.
