CBS, Fox top season ratings
The 2006-2007 TV season ended pretty much the same as last year, with CBS and Fox each able to lay claim to being No. 1.
For the fifth consecutive season, CBS had the most overall viewers, an average of 12.2 million people per night. Fox was second with 10.2 million, but it led in the advertiser-prized 18-to-49 demographic and was the only broadcast network to actually gain viewers over 2005-2006.
ABC (9.7 million) and NBC (8.7 million) each were down about a million viewers from last season.
The two weekly editions of “American Idol” were again the most-watched shows, with Wednesday averaging just over 30 million viewers and Tuesday tallying 29.5 million. The fall season of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” was third at 20.5 million, while CBS’ “CSI” was the most-watched scripted show (19.8 million).
NBC’s “Heroes” (13.6 million) was the most-watched new show of the season.
