Braves 5, Cubs 3: At Chicago, Yunel Escobar doubled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and Andruw Jones led off the ninth with a homer to lead Atlanta over the reeling Cubs.

Mets 7, Diamondbacks 1: At New York, Carlos Delgado touched off a Mets rally with a home run, his fifth in the past seven games, as New York defeated Arizona. Mets backup Ruben Gotay had three hits including a three-run homer.

Astros 8, Cardinals 3: At Houston, Carlos Lee hit a homer and had three RBIs and rookie Hunter Pence drove in two runs to lead the Astros to a win over St. Louis.

Phillies 5, Giants 2: At Philadelphia, Cole Hamels pitched his second complete game to lead the Phillies over San Francisco. Hamels allowed two runs and five hits. He struck out five and didn’t allow a walk.

Marlins 5, Brewers 2: At Milwaukee, Josh Willingham hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning and Florida beat the Brewers. Miguel Cabrera went 2 for 4 with a two-run homer in the sixth for the Marlins.

Padres 11, Nationals 3: At Washington, Justin Germano won his fourth consecutive start, Rob Bowen drove in a career-high four runs and San Diego rode a six-run first inning to a victory over the Nationals. Pirates 3, Dodgers 1: At Pittsburgh, Ian Snell limited Los Angeles to one run over eight innings and the Pirates beat the Dodgers. Three Pirates runners were thrown out at home plate.

Rockies 4, Reds 1: At Denver, Jeff Francis allowed five hits over seven innings and Todd Helton hit a two-run homer to help Colorado top Cincinnati.
