Indians 7, Marlins 3: At Miami, David Dellucci broke a tie with a three-run homer in a wild sixth inning, leading Cleveland to a testy victory over Florida. The Marlins started the sixth up 3-0. Over the next 29 minutes, they matched a season high by allowing six runs, made two costly errors and had reliever Taylor Tankersley, first baseman Aaron Boone and manager Fredi Gonzalez ejected after Tankersley hit Grady Sizemore in the back with a two-strike pitch.
Rockies 12, Red Sox 2: At Boston, Todd Helton drove in four runs, Brad Hawpe hit a three-run homer and Colorado roughed up Curt Schilling in his first start since his near no-hitter, beating Boston handily.
Yankees 7, Diamondbacks 2: At New York, Mike Mussina won his first game in more than a month, Alex Rodriguez hit his major league-leading 25th homer and New York beat Arizona to extend its season-high winning streak to eight. Pirates 8, Rangers 1: At Pittsburgh, Ian Snell pitched his first career complete game, Jose Bautista had three hits and three RBIs and Pittsburgh defeated Texas.
Twins 6, Braves 0: At Minneapolis, Carlos Silva pitched his second career shutout, Torii Hunter dropped down a rare bunt for an RBI single and later hit the last of Minnesota’s three home runs.
Padres 9, Devil Rays 0: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Jake Peavy allowed two hits in seven innings and San Diego, helped by three home runs, snapped a season-worst four-game losing streak by beating Tampa Bay.
Brewers 3, Tigers 2: At Detroit, Bill Hall’s go-ahead, two-run homer in the eighth inning sent Milwaukee to a victory over Detroit.
Blue Jays 7, Giants 4: At San Francisco, Aaron Hill had a two-run single during a five-run fourth inning, Matt Stairs added two RBIs and Dustin McGowan won his third straight decision and also added a single as Toronto defeated the Giants.
Phillies 8, White Sox 4: At Philadelphia, Aaron Rowand hit a grand slam and drove in five runs, helping the Phillies complete their first home sweep this season with a victory over Chicago.
Angels 6, Reds 3: At Cincinnati, Vladimir Guerrero emerged from his deep slump by driving in four runs, and John Lackey became the major leagues’ first 10-game winner this season, leading Los Angeles to a victory over Cincinnati.
Athletics 7, Astros 3: At Houston, Mark Ellis hit a two-run double in the eighth inning off Dan Wheeler as Oakland, which has won nine of its last 11, rallied past Houston.
Nationals 9, Orioles 6 (11): At Baltimore, Felipe Lopez hit a bases-loaded triple off Chris Ray in the 11th to carry Washington past Baltimore. Jay Payton had four hits for Baltimore, sending the game into extra innings with an RBI single, the 1,000th hit of his career.
Cardinals 7, Royals 3: At Kansas City, Mo., Adam Wainwright allowed one hit in a career-high eight innings and Albert Pujols drove in three runs, for St. Louis.
