People: Looks like poor Kelly’s been idled

From Wire Reports The Spokesman-Review

Kelly Clarkson has canceled her summer tour because of disappointing ticket sales, yet another sign of turmoil as she prepares to release her third album.

The original “American Idol” reportedly has clashed with RCA records boss Clive Davis over the direction of “My December,” due June 26, and earlier this week fired her manager.

“(P)erforming is what I look forward to doing the most, so it really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won’t be coming out to tour this summer,” Clarkson says on her Web site.

“The fact is that touring is just too much too soon. But I promise you that we’re going to get back out there as soon as is humanly possible to give you a show that will be even better.”

Her new rep acknowledged ticket sales for the 36-date arena tour had been slow, adding: “The day when she will play in sold-out arenas is, no doubt, coming, but for now her fans should look forward to seeing her in a more intimate concert environment.”

Clarkson’s 2004 album, “Breakaway,” went multiplatinum, but sales have been slow for her new single, “Never Again.”

Driven to drink?

Rehabbing Lindsay Lohan has been sued over yet another 2005 traffic accident.

A man claiming the 20-year-old actress was drunk when she crashed her car into his van that Oct. 4 is seeking at least $200,000.

Last month, Lohan was sued for $3,600 by a company called Grandeur Inc. that says she plowed into one of its vans that same month.

Lohan checked into rehab after a wild Memorial Day weekend during which she crashed her Mercedes-Benz into a curb.

No, no, Naomi

Naomi Campbell has settled a lawsuit with a former employee who claims the British supermodel abused her verbally and physically.

Amanda Brack claimed Campbell assaulted her on several occasions in 2005 in Brazil, Morocco and Manhattan.

The lawsuit was filed last July while Campbell was in plea negotiations over an assault charge where she was accused of throwing a cell phone at an employee in a dispute over a missing pair of jeans.

Big Mac Daddy

A beaming David Hasselhoff said following a closed court hearing Friday that he had won a long-running battle with ex-wife Pamela Bach over custody of his two teenage daughters.

The former “Baywatch” star had been sharing custody of the girls, age 14 and 17.

Hasselhoff’s visitation privileges had been suspended last month after a videotape surfaced of him lying on a floor trying to eat a cheeseburger while one of his daughters scolded him about his drinking.

Heavenly body?

Barbara Walters received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday – smack dab between “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest and Destiny’s Child.

“This strange alignment makes me hip and hot,” she said.
