AFAIK (chat term)

In instant messages or text-messaging, “AFAIK” translates as “as far as I know.”

There’s the near-cousin chat or IM term “AFAICT” which means “as far as I can tell.” The first choice is more likely when someone thinks he or she will likely get to the final answer on some topic. The second expression suggests the poster is probably out of the loop and won’t ever learn the bottom line answer.
