Is Rosie right for ‘Price’?

From Wire Reports The Spokesman-Review

Could Rosie O’Donnell be the new Bob Barker?

O’Donnell has fueled speculation that she could take over as host of “The Price is Right” by announcing on her Web site that she’s meeting this week with the show’s producers.

The buzz began at last week’s Daytime Emmys when the newly retired Barker endorsed his friend O’Donnell as a successor.

“She knows the show. There’s no doubt in my mind she could do the show,” he said.

“Now, whether they want a lady host, I don’t know,” he added. “I’ve never heard that discussed. As far as I know, they’ve only auditioned men.”

O’Donnell says on Rosie.com that she’s meeting this week with Freemantle Media, producers of “Price” and other shows including “American Idol” and “Family Feud.”

As for “Price,” she said: “If they asked me/i sure would.”

One online fan begged her not to take the job, saying: “Why hide behind the cheese factor? You have so much more to offer.”

Replied O’Donnell: “u make ur life/i will make mine.”

The bloom is off

“The View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck says she’s not sure that she and Rosie O’Donnell are still friends following their on-air fight last month.

“Truthfully, I think a friend is someone who you have positive communications with, so I don’t know if I would define us as friends right now,” Hasselbeck told “Access Hollywood.”

The heated squabble – broadcast live on a split-screen – led to O’Donnell’s early departure from the ABC daytime chatfest.

Birdies and the B-list

Catching up on the celebrity baby beat:

Keri Russell, formerly of TV’s “Felicity” and now appearing on the big screen in “Waitress,” announced the birth of her first child, River Russell Deary, earlier this month.

“It’s another girl for “The King of Queens” star Kevin James and his wife. Shea Joelle James joins big sister Sienna, born in 2005.

“Golfer Tiger Woods‘ Swedish model wife Elin gave birth to their first child, a girl named Sam Alexis Woods, less than 24 hours after he finished second in Sunday’s U.S. Open.

Hairless today, gone tomorrow

Radio station billboards in Tampa, Fla., featuring unflattering photos of a bald, scowling Britney Spears have been taken down after the pop star’s attorneys threatened legal action.

The ads showed Spears and WFLZ-FM’s morning host along with the slogans “Total Nut Jobs,” “Shock Therapy” and “Certifiable.”

Spears completed a monthlong stay in rehab in March following a meltdown that included shaving her head.
