Organizations win grants

A pair of Kootenai County organizations each won $23,000 grants recently from the Women’s Gift Alliance, a nonprofit philanthropic organization affiliated with the Idaho Community Foundation.

“In Post Falls, a thrift store run by the Senior Center with support from TESH, Inc., will use its grant to renovate leaky roofs and upgrade its building. Located at 1211 E. 3rd Ave., the thrift store is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The collaborative effort provides revenue for a senior meal program and job training and employment for people with developmental and mental disabilities.

“In Coeur d’Alene, the Dirne Community Health Center will purchase equipment for separate family practice, senior citizen and dental programs.

The nonprofit facility provides health care to those who can least afford it. Offices are at 1106 and 916 Ironwood Drive in Coeur d’Alene.
