Sounds like Paris’ ears are burning

Some people find religion when they go behind bars, but Paris Hilton apparently has had a revelation of a different sort.

“I just realize that the media used me to make fun of and be mean about it,” the jailed hotel heiress says, adding that she is “frankly sick of it” and that she wants to “use my fame in a good way.”

Hilton, doing time for violating probation from a drunk driving conviction, told E! News’ Ryan Seacrest that jail has changed her.

“I’m much more grateful for everything that I have, even just to have a pillow at night or food,” she says.

Visits with her family have been emotional, the 26-year-old adds:

“I am behind glass, and I want to give my dad a big hug and they won’t even let me do that. I’m not a criminal, I’m not dangerous. … It’s hard but I’m stronger every day.”

Meanwhile, NBC News is denying reports that it has offered as much as $1 million for the first interview with Hilton after her release from jail next week.

The allegation reportedly came from inside ABC, which was willing to pay $100,000.

Sorry excuse, indeed

Isaiah Washington, fired from “Grey’s Anatomy” for using an anti-gay slur, says ABC should have canned castmate T.R. Knight.

He blames Knight for exploiting the controversy to get a salary increase, by claiming Washington insulted him directly during an on-set dispute last fall about Knight’s tardiness.

“That’s a lie,” Washington says. “I used the word during a disagreement with (co-star) Patrick (Dempsey). I apologized for that. We shook hands and went back to work.”

Drowning his non-sorrows?

David Hasselhoff has demanded an apology from a British tabloid that claimed he was drunk at a Hollywood nightclub while celebrating his victory in a child custody battle.

The Sun said the “Baywatch” and “Knight Rider” star knocked over tables and demanded drinks from strangers after being awarded custody of his two teenage daughters after a lengthy dispute with ex-wife Pamela Bach.

Hasselhoff, a recovering alcoholic, had his visitation rights temporarily suspended after a videotape surfaced showing him lying on a floor and trying to eat a cheeseburger while one of the girls berated him about his drinking.

No junkie male for her

Pete Doherty plans to marry supermodel Kate Moss this summer – if he stays off drugs.

According to the troubled British rocker’s newly published diary, he’s hoping to wed provided he is “smack and needle-free.”

Then, he says, “I become (sic) 10 times happier than any given smackhead. Huzzah!”

A splash of old Spice?

The Spice Girls, recently rumored to be reuniting, have promised to make “an announcement to the world” next week.

“We’ve been discussing it, and it could possibly happen,” Melanie Chisholm, aka Sporty Spice, recently told BBC Radio.
