Fanboy (n.)
Fanboy is a derisive term for an obsessive tech enthusiast or zealot who favors one product or company and works overtime to trash some tech company competitor. Mac enthusiasts, backers of Linux or supporters of AMD all have examples of fanboys within their respective groups. Firefox has some fanboys in its corps of hard-core supporters.
Any company worth anything spawns fanboys. Video games have bred thousands of fanboys. There is a female variant, fangirl, but it’s used fairly infrequently.
